The 2021 call for the Young Researchers’ Exchange Programme with China has now been officially launched.
The Leading House Asia ETH Zurich, in collaboration with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) supports the exchange of researchers between Switzerland and China with the possibility of hosting early-career Chinese scholars in a Swiss research group.
- Eligibility: Switzerland-based senior researchers from universities, universities of applied sciences or research institutes and from all scientific disciplines including social sciences and humanities can apply to host early-career Chinese scholars (doctoral or post-doctoral students) in Switzerland for between 6 and 24 months.
- Funding: A scholarship is jointly provided by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Leading House Asia ETH Zurich to cover living allowance and international travel.
- Application process: The Swiss main applicant (hosting researcher) must apply to the Leading House Asia ETH Zurich using the online application form. At the same time, the Chinese scholar must submit her/his application to the CSC. A co-application is mandatory.
- Application deadline (both at Leading House Asia ETH and CSC): 31 March 2021.

The Congressi Stefano Franscini is ETH Zurich’s conference platform located at Monte Verità, a beautiful hilltop overlooking Ascona and Lago Maggiore in Southern Switzerland (Ticino). Since 1989, the CSF gives professors and researchers working in Switzerland the opportunity to organize a subsidized international scientific event at Monte Verità, international collaborations are welcome. The application season for CSF Conferences 2021 is open, the deadline for submission is January 15, 2020. Submissions for 2020 Workshops are still possible.
In the context of the bilateral science and technology cooperation of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) with Asia, for which ETH Zurich acts as Leading House, Max Weber from the ZHAW Center for Asia Business has been asked to promote young Swiss entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia. He is developing a custom training programme to help Swiss entrepreneurs convince local investors to support their projects. Forced migration: Research and Policy

The Science and Development Forum Forced migration: Research and Policy brings together scholars from different disciplines to discuss current academic research on the topic, from the ethics of migration to evidence-based policy research and managerial improvements in refugee camps. In a second part, representatives from different international and governmental policy organisations and NGOs will challenge the scientific presentations based on their experiences in the field. The regional focus of the conference is on the Syrian crisis and the refugee movements to Turkey and Europe.
