In drei Kategorien werden jedes Jahr herausragende technologiebasierte Innovationen und Entwicklungen von Start-ups, Hoch- und Fachhochschulen sowie etablierten Unternehmen prämiert.

Der Preis ist die wichtigste Auszeichnung für Innovation und Technologietransfer der Schweiz. Der Swiss Technology Award wurde 2007 von der Swiss Economic Forum AG übernommen und wird im Rahmen des Swiss Innovation Forum 2018 zum 30. Mal vergeben. Das professionelle Jurierungsverfahren ist seit 2016 SQS-zertifiziert.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Research Scholarship 2019

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers research scholarships to international students who wish to study in Japan under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program for 2019.

As part of a reciprocal exchange, the government of Japan (MEXT) offers 1 or 2 scholarships to Switzerland for the academic year 2019. Swiss students and artists who wish to undertake research studies in a Japanese university are invited to download the documents below and to apply for a MEXT research scholarship.

Brokerage Event on Horizon 2020 Security Calls

On 1 and 2 February 2018 the Security Mission Information & Innovation Group (SMI2G) is organising an event in Brussels to discuss on the upcoming 2018 Secure Societies calls of Horizon 2020.

This brokerage event provides a unique networking platform to stimulate innovative ideas and facilitate the creation of consortia. All Horizon 2020 Secure Societies topics will be represented.

The objective of SMI2G is to provide opportunities to create ideas and find partners for each open research call of the EU security research programme.

In this event we will discuss current tendencies on Research Integrity and Open Data. On a European level, the Framework Programme Horizon 2020 fosters these concepts in the areas Research Infrastructure and Science with and for Society. In Switzerland, Research Integrity and Open Data are important issues for institutions such as the National Science Foundation and the Academies of Arts and Sciences.

Public Stakeholder Consultation for Young Scientists on Horizon 2020

How do young scientists and the youth perceive Horizon 2020? Please take a minute to fill in the questionnaire of the European Commission. The results will be taken into account for the interim evaluation of the 8th Framework Programme.

Amongst others, the questions to the youth and young researchers are:

  • what is your perception on science and research in schools?
  • what are the major challenges for young researchers?
  • on which societal challenges should the EU funds focus in the future?
  • on which criteria should Horizon 2020 research funding be awarded to researchers?
  • which aspects represent potential benefits of participating in Horizon 2020?

Cybersecurity Information Event – 16-05-2017, 13:45–18:00 in Bern

The European Cyber Security Organisation and Horizon 2020

Cybersecurity is becoming more and more important in Horizon 2020. This is evidenced by a contractual Public-Private-Partnership (cPPP) that has been signed by the European Commission and the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) in July 2016. The cPPP will trigger up to €1.8 billion of investment by 2020 and is crucial for topics on cybersecurity in Horizon 2020.

Southeast Asia – Europe Joint Funding Scheme

Submission deadline: 30/06/2017           The SNSF is participating in the first call for proposals within the scope of the Southeast Asia – Europe Joint Funding Scheme.

The objective of the Joint Funding Scheme (JFS) is to bring together Southeast Asian and European researchers and innovators and allow them to collaborate on topics of mutual interest. The JFS is a scheme for pooling resources at a multilateral level to support collaborative research and innovation projects.

Scientific Exchanges: Neues Förderungsinstrument für internationalen Austausch

Der SNF unterstützt den internationalen Austausch zwischen Forschenden und vereint die bisherigen Förderungsinstrumente Wissenschaftliche Tagungen, International Exploratory Workshops und International Short Visits neu in einem einzigen Instrument.

In den vergangenen Jahren verzeichnete der SNF eine steigende Nachfrage nach finanzieller Unterstützung von wissenschaftlichen Tagungen, International Exploratory Workshops und International Short Visits. Im letzten Jahr organisierten Forschende mit SNF-Geldern rund 260 Konferenzen und Workshops.
