Der SNF-Wettbewerb für wissenschaftliche Bilder und Kurzvideos geht in die zweite Runde

Nach der erfolgreichen ersten Ausgabe führt der Schweizerische Nationalfonds (SNF) 2018 den Wettbewerb für Bilder und Videos aus der Wissenschaft erneut durch.

Über 230 Personen haben im Frühling 2017 am SNF-Wettbewerb für wissenschaftliche Bilder teilgenommen. Eine internationale Jury hat die Gewinner bestimmt und im Rahmen der Bieler Fototage ausgezeichnet. Danach wurden die Werke unter anderem in der Fondation Suisse in Paris sowie am Zurich Film Festival ausgestellt. „Die erste Durchführung hat unsere Erwartungen deutlich übertroffen“, sagt Daniel Saraga, Projektleiter des Wettbewerbs beim SNF. „Künstlerische Werke, beindruckende Bilder und überraschende Geschichten konnten die Wissenschaft von einer anderen Seite zeigen. Und dank den verschiedenen Ausstellungen haben wir ein breites Publikum erreicht.“

The Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) scheme promotes international and inter-sector collaboration through research and innovation staff exchanges.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) offers exchanges of staff members involved in research and innovation to develop sustainable collaborative projects and transfer of knowledge. The RISE funding scheme is bottom-up, meaning there are no topics predefined by the European Commission. RISE projects are carried out within the framework of a consortium involving 3 or more partners.

Tierversuche, darf man das?

Im Themenportal geben Forschende der Gesellschaft für Versuchstierkunde Antworten aus ihrer Sicht auf häufig gestellte Fragen.

Für den human- und veterinärmedizinischen Fortschritt und für die Gewinnung von neuen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen werden Tiere eingesetzt. Ist das gerechtfertigt? Wann sind Tierversuche bedenklich? Die gesellschaftliche Diskussion, wie man Schaden und Nutzen von Tierversuchen gegeneinander abwägen kann, ist in vollem Gang. Bei dieser Frage gibt es keine eindeutige Antwort. Sie zu finden ist eine fortwährende Aufgabe des gesellschaftlichen Diskurses, in dem die Naturwissenschaft nur eine Stimme unter vielen ist.

Workshop About European Science Projects in Laboratory Fields

Horizon 2020 Workshop for Coordinators in Societal Challenge 6

On 26 October 2017 a one-day consortium building workshop around selected topics of the upcoming Work Programme Societal Challenge 6 (Inclusive Societies) will be held in Brussels.

The objective of this hands-on event is to prepare ground for consortia building: to give opportunity to future proposers to discuss concrete cooperation possibilities, to present their expertise and learn from each other. Experienced R&I officers will help participants to steer the group discussions.

The event is organized by RTD liaison offices from EU member states and Horizon 2020 associated countries. Registration is compulsory.

Please note that this event is directed specifically towards potential coordinators of Societal Challenge 6 projects and that the number of participants is limited.

New Partner Search Service 14/07/2017

The Participant Portal (PP) provides a new service for finding collaboration partners for your future projects when applying for EU grants. It allows searching profiles of organisations that have previously received EU funding via the PP. The functionalities of the currently available beta version will be extended in the coming months.

In its first version, the service allows searching for organisations and displaying their profiles.

The profiles comprise:
• Organisation name, city, country, Participant Identification Code (PIC)
• Organisation type (Higher or secondary education establishment, SME, etc.)
• The list of EU projects in which the organisation is involved
• An overview of its main collaboration links with other organisations
• Keywords related to its projects, indicating its fields of expertise
