COHEHRE: Creating a Social Entrepreneurship to fight Poverty

“No Poverty” is the Sustainable Development Goal number 1. Poverty is a global problem on many levels. Living in poverty causes inequality and hardship in nutrition, education, health and various other aspects. Poverty is often inherited. Social entrepreneurship is one way to address these issues. Students work in interdisciplinary teams to explore, research and understand real world problems around poverty and empathize with people to solve problems and create solutions. Creativity and the ability to develop better solutions together are key competences in future work life.

Ausschreibung für die IBH-Labs 2022

In den von Interreg VI-Alpenrhein-Bodensee-Hochrhein geförderten IBH-Labs sollen die wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Folgen des digitalen Wandels für die Vierländerregion Bodensee bearbeitet werden. In diesen Innovationsnetzwerken sollen ab 2022 Akteur*innen aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und anderen gesellschaftlichen Feldern gemeinschaftlich konkrete Lösungen zur Bewältigung des digitalen Wandels erarbeiten, testen und implementieren.

Horizon Europe – ‘Cluster 4 – Digital, Industry & Space‘ and ‘Digital Europe Programme (DEP)’

HORIZON EUROPE is the next and 9th European Research and Innovation Framework Programme which will replace the current programme Horizon 2020. Horizon Europe is proposed as the most ambitious European Research and Innovation Programme ever and might provide a total budget of up to €100 billion for 2021 -2027.

After a brief introduction to Horizon Europe, this event will give, with a special focus on artificial intelligence aspects, an overview on the topics expected to be called in 2021 and 2022 in Horizon Europe’s ‘Cluster 4 – Digital, Industry & Space’ as well as the ‘Digital Europe Programme (DEP)’.

European Cybersecurity Challenges (Online Event)

This Swiss Innovation Briefing discusses how the European Commission aims to improve the EU’s cybersecurity capacity. It is organised by the Mission of Switzerland to the EU, SwissCore and the National Research Council of Italy.

The focus of this briefing will be on the Cybersecurity Competence Center and the integration of cybersecurity into the upcoming European knowledge programmes. Furthermore, the potential of innovation in promoting security in the digital sphere and the role of collaborative infrastructures, partnerships, and networks will be discussed.

Inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum

The inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum will take place on 15-20 November 2021. Shaw Laureates and distinguished scientists will spend a week in Hong Kong interacting with about 200 young scientists from around the world, sharing their views, experience and aspirations in various scientific fields. The week of programme will consist of world-class intellectual seminars, discussion groups, workshops, poster sessions and visits to the latest Hong Kong scientific development projects, universities and institutes as well as cross-cultural social activities.
