European Cybersecurity Challenges (Online Event)

This Swiss Innovation Briefing discusses how the European Commission aims to improve the EU’s cybersecurity capacity. It is organised by the Mission of Switzerland to the EU, SwissCore and the National Research Council of Italy.

The focus of this briefing will be on the Cybersecurity Competence Center and the integration of cybersecurity into the upcoming European knowledge programmes. Furthermore, the potential of innovation in promoting security in the digital sphere and the role of collaborative infrastructures, partnerships, and networks will be discussed.

Inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum

The inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum will take place on 15-20 November 2021. Shaw Laureates and distinguished scientists will spend a week in Hong Kong interacting with about 200 young scientists from around the world, sharing their views, experience and aspirations in various scientific fields. The week of programme will consist of world-class intellectual seminars, discussion groups, workshops, poster sessions and visits to the latest Hong Kong scientific development projects, universities and institutes as well as cross-cultural social activities.

nexHack for the nexBig idea in Edtech

48 hours of digital hacking for #LearningTomorrow.

swissnex India/Boston and Movetia are organising the “nexHack edtech” – a virtual Hackathon to develop edtech-solutions relating to two challenges in the field of international education. The Hackathon will take place from 6 – 8 November 2020 and they are looking for anyone with ideas and an interest in international education to join us individually or as a pre-formed team for this international, 48h-Hackathon.

The swissnex India website will provide you with plenty of reasons to participate, the registration link and the participation details (PDF). The winning team will receive vouchers to attend a summer or winter school at a Swiss university, and the top teams with the most promising idea and prototype will have an opportunity to apply for seed-funding (up to CHF 15’000.-) with Movetia.

Mit Horizon Europe beginnt anfangs nächsten Jahres ein neues EU-Forschungsförderungsprogramm. Wie ist dieses neue Rahmenprogramm aufgebaut und wie steht es um die Teilnahme von Forschenden der Schweiz?

In einem Webinar stellen Florian Berner und Patrik Ettinger, die Leiter des Euresearch Büros für die Züricher Fachhochschulen, die Grundsätze und die Struktur von Horizon Europe vor und diskutieren die wichtigsten Forschungsförderungsinstrumente für Forschende der Fachhochschulen. Zudem präsentieren sie den aktuellen Zeitplan und den Stand der politischen Diskussionen zur Beteiligung der Schweiz an Horizon Europe.
