Der Nachwuchspreis der SAGW ist dem akademischen Nachwuchs der Schweiz gewidmet. Mit dem Preis werden junge Forscherinnen und Forscher der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften für die Qualität eines Artikels ausgezeichnet, der in einer wissenschaftlichen Publikation veröffentlicht wurde. Der mit Fr. 18’000.– dotierte Preis wird alljährlich an der Jahresversammlung der SAGW verliehen. Er ist in drei Unterpreise aufgegliedert:

  • Nachwuchspreis Gold: Fr. 10.000,00
  • Nachwuchspreis Silber: Fr. 5.000,00
  • Nachwuchspreis Bronze: Fr. 3.000,00

EIT Climate-KIC Climate Week in Austria

The week of 16 – 20 October 2018 is going to be exciting for climate action in Austria, starting with a 2-day RIS bootcamp of our European start-up accelerator programme. The first day of this bootcamp will see a demo day where start-ups from the EIT Climate-KIC RIS countries pitch in front of a diverse audience at the ImpactHub Vienna. On the second day they will learn from experts about sustainable business modelling and how to expand their businesses. Climate Innovation Summit, 6 – 8 November 2018 in Dublin

The Climate Innovation Summit is the only event of its kind in Europe connecting business leaders, sectoral professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs and the foremost thinkers to share expertise and best practice, through inspirational talks, capacity-building masterclasses, deep dive workshops and fruitful networking to create the opportunities to scale-up the solutions that accelerate climate action.


The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) has commissioned the HES-SO as Leading House for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The mandate will last from 2017 to 2020 and its overall goal is to develop scientific collaborations between Switzerland and countries of the MENA region.
The following countries have been identified as priority countries for the first phase of the LHMENA: Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates.
This call allows funding of approximately 26 mobility grants, subject to the number of applications received as well as compliance with the criteria for evaluation and selection.

2. Call BREF 2018 – „FIRST VENTURES“

Unter dem Titel BREF – «First Ventures» fördert die Gebert Rüf Stiftung Bachelor- und Masterstudierende von Fachhochschulen, die in ihrer Abschlussarbeit eine innovative Geschäftsidee entwickeln. Die Unterstützung beinhaltet einen finanziellen Projektbeitrag sowie ein individuell abgestimmtes Coachingprogramm. Für den Schwerpunkt stehen jährlich CHF 1.5 Mio. zur Verfügung. Der 2. Call ist nun offen, Deadline ist der 15. November 2018.

ERC Starting Grants Call 2019 Open

ERC Starting Grants aim to support up-and-coming research leaders.

ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage typically 2-7 years after their PhD. Up to €1.5 mio are available for projects of up to 5 years duration.

Call for Posters: Community in Crisis? Political Identification in Europe

Student poster session | 12 October 2018 Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen, Germany

To facilitate an interdisciplinary conversation on identification in Europe, a work-shop is held over two days on the shores of Lake Constance at the Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen, Germany. During the workshop, there will also be a student poster session to give the possibility for scientific exchange bet-ween researchers and students.
Therefore, we invite poster contributions from students with different disciplinary perspectives: political sociology, political science, political theory, European studies, social psychology and international relations.
