This Call for Projects is designed to provide seed funding for projects between academic actors in Switzerland and Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongoliy, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Projects may be submitted in any scientific discipline.
The ZHAW is the Leading House for research collaboration with partner institutions in South Asia and Iran. Mandated by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) in 2017, the ZHAW promotes and fosters scientific cooperation with key institutions in South Asia and Iran during the funding period 2017-2020. The South Asia region includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with Iran as an additional country.
All scientists from Swiss federal and cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences and universities of teacher education, as well as public research institutions, are eligible to apply. Calls are open for activities in all scientific disciplines and fields of research.

Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) and The Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (tekes) are announcing a collaborative Promotional Call for project ideas of R&D performing SMEs on the topic of Life Sciences with a special focus on Bio and Medical Technologies: Drug Development, Drug Delivery, Bio Materials, Medical Device and Diagnostics.
As of 1 January 2017 until 31 December 2020 Switzerland is associated to the entire Horizon 2020, and Swiss legal entities are automatically eligible for funding and may count towards the minimum number of participants required for a project. Euresearch and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) organise a national information event on Horizon 2020, the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, to inform about the changes and new opportunities offered to Swiss participants.
