The 2021 call for the Young Researchers’ Exchange Programme with China has now been officially launched.

The Leading House Asia ETH Zurich, in collaboration with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) supports the exchange of researchers between Switzerland and China with the possibility of hosting early-career Chinese scholars in a Swiss research group.

  • Eligibility: Switzerland-based senior researchers from universities, universities of applied sciences or research institutes and from all scientific disciplines including social sciences and humanities can apply to host early-career Chinese scholars (doctoral or post-doctoral students) in Switzerland for between 6 and 24 months.
  • Funding: A scholarship is jointly provided by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Leading House Asia ETH Zurich to cover living allowance and international travel.
  • Application process: The Swiss main applicant (hosting researcher) must apply to the Leading House Asia ETH Zurich using the online application form. At the same time, the Chinese scholar must submit her/his application to the CSC. A co-application is mandatory.
  • Application deadline (both at Leading House Asia ETH and CSC): 31 March 2021.

Call for Bridging Grants with China, Japan, South Korea and members states of ASEAN

The Leading House Asia launches a call for Bridging Grants with China, Japan, South Korea and members states of ASEAN to establish existing collaborations between Swiss scientists and their collaborating partners. Researchers from Switzerland belonging to a university, a university of applied sciences, a university of teachers education or a research institute are eligible to apply. Special COVID-19 Call for Project Grants with China (incl. Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea, and the ASEAN Region (incl. Singapore)

The Leading House Asia, ETH Zurich has decided to launch a special COVID-​​19 call for project grants in order to support the collective effort to better understand the virus as well as its numerous implications, and prepare for society’s future.

The current Special COVID-​​19 Call for Project Grants awards project funding for research questions related to the COVID-​​19 pandemic. The current call comprises all scientific fields and is not limited to epidemiological or medical studies. However, the research projects have to be collaborative projects between researchers based in Switzerland and Asia.

  • Eligibility: All senior scientists of Swiss federal and cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education, as well as public research institutes are eligible to apply.
  • Funding: max. 25k CHF per project
  • Deadline: 30 August 2020.
