Pre-Publication of the 2019 Health Work Programme Update

The official publication of the work programme is scheduled for mid-July

The European Commission has recently published a „pre-publication version“ of the 2019 work programme update for the societal challenge „Health, demographic change and wellbeing“.

The update encompasses a revised version of the topic SC1-BHC-01-2019 (understanding causative mechanisms in co- and multimorbidities) together with the inclusion of five new topics in the work programme:


Horizon 2020 – Health, IMI 2 and US-NIH information event

16-11-2017, 12:00–14:00 in Geneva

This event will provide information on the funding opportunities provided by the European Framework Programme for research and innovation « Horizon 2020 » in the domains of health, life sciences and pharmaceutical sciences.

In particular, the event will focus on the Horizon 2020 – Health, demographic change and wellbeing and on the IMI 2 – Innovative Medicines Initiatives. In addition, synthetic information on the US National Institute of Health (NIH) will be also provided.

This event provides synthetic information and practical advice (in French and English)

Workshop on Innovation Procurement in Health

Would you like to understand more about Innovation Procurement? On 7 December 2017 the European Commission organises a workshop on Innovation Procurement in health, taking place in Brussels.

Talks will include specific information on Innovation Procurement topics in the upcoming „Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing“ 2018-2020 work programme including pre-commercial procurement and public procurement of innovative solutions instruments. The afternoon is dedicated to a networking and brokerage session for stakeholders.

This information event will provide you with an overview of the „Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing“ societal challenge within Horizon 2020. The event is an excellent opportunity to get the latest news about the forthcoming Work Programme to be launched end of 2017 and also to acquire tips and tricks for a successful proposal. You will also have the chance to discuss your specific questions with the National Contact Point Health.
