Die 6 interdisziplinären Projekte im Rahmen des Kompetenzaufbaus Energieforschung haben allesamt Ende 2014/Anfang 2015 begonnen. 3 dieser Projekte wurden im Herbst 2016 im Rahmen eines Reviews zwischenevaluiert (weitere Informationen hier). Die erste Phase der Ausschreibung war ein riesiger Erfolg: Bis am 27. Februar 2017 reichten interessierte Forschende über 290 „letters of intent“ ein. Bis am 10. April 2017 wurden dann 190 ausgearbeitete Projekte eingereicht.
