- Intra-European Fellowship (IEF)
- International Outgoing Fellowship (IOF)
- International Incoming Fellowship (IIF)

Two main rules have to be fulfilled to be able to apply for funding:
Eligibility rule: Applicants must, at the time of the relevant deadline for submission of proposals (16 August, 2012), be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience.
Mobility rule: Applicants must, at the time of the relevant deadline for submission (16 August, 2012) not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date (16 August, 2012).
