The high technology platform Swiss-Swedish Innovation Initiative (SWII) was launched by Switzerland and Sweden in October 2012.
Next SWII activity is the Innovative Smart Systems Networking Conference (ISSC), which matches the R&D intensive Swiss & Swedish MNEs, SMEs & academia with the goal to launch joint market oriented R&D projects.

Since the start in October 2012, SWII has achieved following results:
- 1000% increase in approved and financed Swiss-Swedish market oriented R&D projects in comparison to the previous call
- 600% increase in submitted qualitative Swiss-Swedish R&D project applications
- Over 200 high profile participants from organizations such as Volvo Cars, Sandvik, Hexagon, ABB, Ericsson, Kudelski Group, Saab, RUAG, IBM, Ascom, ETH & Chalmers
- Almost 300 one-to-one meetings have been carried out onsite at the SWII conferences
