FP7: ERC Synergy Grant Call Open

 

The call for submissions in the European Research Council (ERC) Synergy Grant within the Ideas programme of the EU FP7 has been opened today. Submissions  can be made until January 10, 2013. The budget of the call amounts to € 150 million.

 

The european commission has published the call on September 18 with the following details:

Background on the European Research Council (ERC):

The European Research Council (ERC) has a unique position in European research funding. It is a science-led funding body, supporting research at the highest level of excellence. The ERC consists of an independent Scientific Council, responsible for scientific strategy and an administrative arm, the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA). The Commission is responsible for assuring the «ERC’s full autonomy and integrity».

The objectives of the ERC are to reinforce excellence, dynamism and creativity in European research and improve the attractiveness of Europe for the best researchers from across the world, as well as for industrial research investment.
