Prestigous funding for early-stage researchers
ERC Starting Grants support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme by funding ground-breaking, ambitious research projects. Researchers having been awarded their PhD 2-7 years before 1 January 2015 are eligible (Extensions of the eligibility time window are possible in case of maternity, paternity, long-term illness, clinical training and national service). Grants amount to a maximum of €1.5 mio normally. Note that unlike with the 2014 Starting Grant call, researchers at Swiss host institutions are again fully eligible for ERC funding.
