In der Präsentation wurde deutlich, dass die an Fachhochschulen praktizierte anwendungsorientierte Forschung einen wesentlichen Beitrag im Rahmen von Horizon 2020 leisten kann.

Der Bundesrat hat die Botschaft zur Finanzierung der Schweizer Beteiligung an «Horizon 2020», dem neuen Rahmenprogramm der EU für die Jahre 2014-2020 an die Eidgenössischen Räte überwiesen. Damit soll für Schweizer Forschende weiterhin der Zugang zu dieser wichtigen Förderquelle und zum europaweiten Forschungsnetzwerk offen stehen. Für die Assoziierung der Schweiz an Horizon 2020 wird ein Kredit von 4.4 Milliarden Franken über sieben Jahre beantragt. Continue reading
The European Commission has launched the call for experts for Horizon 2020 Advisory Groups. Candidates having registered no later than Wednesday 6 March 2013 will be taken into account for the setting up of the first Horizon 2020 Advisory Groups. The 2013 edition of the SwissCore Research & Innovation Seminar will take place on January 23-25. The main topics will be an update on the adoption process of Horizon 2020, the next European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. It will further address more practical and programmatic issues such as the future of Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, COST, the Joint Technology Initiatives and EUREKA. On the 13th and 14th June the Institutes of Technology, Ireland in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland is organising a workshop to address the requirements for the successful application for EU FP7 funding and to lay the foundations for Horizon 2020. There will be a particular focus in the workshop on the currently open call for proposals on the programme Research for the Benefit of SMEs. IOTI and Enterprise Ireland have developed an uniquely successful approach to applying to this programme and has acheived substantial research funding for colleges and SMEs from the programme.
