Japanese Government (MEXT) Research Scholarship 2019

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers research scholarships to international students who wish to study in Japan under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program for 2019.

As part of a reciprocal exchange, the government of Japan (MEXT) offers 1 or 2 scholarships to Switzerland for the academic year 2019. Swiss students and artists who wish to undertake research studies in a Japanese university are invited to download the documents below and to apply for a MEXT research scholarship.

Call for Opportunity Grants with China, Japan, South Korea and the ASEAN Region

The Leading House ETH Zurich opens a call for proposals for opportunity grants with China, Japan, South Korea and the ASEAN countries.

Applications are accepted on a rolling base until 2020.

Deadline: call permanently open until 2020
Grant sum: max. 50 kCHF
Project duration: up to 12 months
Eligible countries: China (incl. Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea, ASEAN member states (partner countries)
 
Goals and objectives
Opportunity grants will support activities of Swiss researchers from universities, universities of applied sciences or public research institutes linked to specific events or incidents in China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea and member states of ASEAN. Examples of such events are on the one hand large public happenings, such as the Olympic Games, international or national Expos etc., or on the other hand major environmental or economic developments in the region.
 
 

 

Call for Innovation Partnership Grants with China, Japan, South Korea and the ASEAN region

Grant sum: max. 20 kCHF
Project duration: up to 12 months

Eligible countries: China (incl. Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea, ASEAN member states (partner countries)

Goals and objectives
Innovation partnership grants will support the establishment of cooperation between Swiss researchers from universities, universities of applied sciences or public research institutes with non-academic innovation agents in China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea and member states of ASEAN. These agents can be corporates, SMEs or start-ups, innovation parks or similar entities with a focus on applied sciences or technical development. The goal of the innovation partnership grants is to initiate long-term partnerships with mutually beneficial concrete outcomes.
 

 

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science: Postdoctoral Fellowships for Overseas Researchers

Das Programm „JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Overseas Researchers“ ermöglicht Schweizer Forschenden Aufenthalte von 12 bis 24 Monaten in Japan. Eingabefrist ist der 30. April 2017 (um einen Monat verlängert).

Interessierte Forschende werden eingeladen, ihre Gesuche bis spätestens 30. April  2017 beim SNF einzureichen. Dafür müssen die Formulare der JSPS verwendet und die entsprechenden Bedingungen beachtet werden. Die ausgefüllten Formulare mit sämtlichen Beilagen müssen sowohl per Post an die Abteilung Interdisziplinäre und Internationale Zusammenarbeit des SNF als auch eingescannt per E-Mail an international@snf.ch gesendet werden.
