Nationales Forschungsprogramm «Digitale Transformation» lanciert

Bern, 21.09.2018 – Der Bundesrat hat an seiner Sitzung vom 21. September 2018 ein neues Nationales Forschungsprogramm zum Thema „Digitale Transformation“ lanciert.

Hauptziel des Programms ist es, Wissen über die Chancen und Risiken der Digitalisierung für die Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft zu erarbeiten. Im Zentrum stehen dabei die Forschungsschwerpunkte «Bildung, Lernen und digitaler Wandel», «Ethik, Vertrauenswürdigkeit und Governance» sowie «Digitale Wirtschaft und Arbeitsmarkt». Die Dauer des Programms beträgt fünf Jahre. Das Budget beläuft sich auf insgesamt 30 Millionen Franken. Das Programm ist eine Massnahme des «Aktionsplans Digitalisierung im Bereich Bildung, Forschung und Innovation in den Jahren 2019-2020».

New Call for Mobility Grants – Autumn 2018

Deadline: November 4, 2018

The goal of the Mobility Grants is to strengthen or initiate scientific exchange between Swiss and Latin American researchers and institutions in all disciplines by enabling them to jointly undertake preliminary research and organise workshops.

Mobility Grants are especially useful for emerging researchers (Postdocs and PhD students) for the integration of the next generation of scientists in international collaboration, helping to build new partnerships through personal contacts, mutual trust, and to make cooperation more sustainable.
Grants up to CHF 8,000 will be awarded.

ESFRI Roadmap 2018 is Published

The European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) has presented its updated Strategy Report and Roadmap 2018.

ESFRI supports a coherent and strategy-led approach to the better use and development of research infrastructures in Europe.

The updated roadmap identifies 8 projects that have reached the operational phase, or are well advanced in their construction, and deserved the ESFRI Landmark status, as well as 6 new projects entering the roadmap. In addition, for the first time two High Strategic Potential Areas have been identified in the field of Social and Cultural Innovation: Religious Studies and Digital Services for Open Science.

Data Repository Landscape Survey

Welcome to the survey by the SNSF and swissuniversities on the use of data repositories of the Swiss research community.

The purpose of this project is to gain a better understanding of the data sharing activities of the Swiss research community and to prepare a multi-layered overview of national and international data archives as well as their features, functioning and financial flow.

This survey contains a variable number of questions depending on your experience with data repositories. It should take approximately 20-30 minutes of your time.

Workshop on Civil Security Research in Horizon Europe

This event offers the opportunity to get involved in shaping civil security research in the upcoming Framework Programme Horizon Europe. It takes place in Brussels on 6 and 7 November 2018.

The workshop discusses issues such as the mission approach of Horizon Europe, the relation between civil security research and defence, as well as the dissemination and commercialisation of R&I results.

The target audience includes stakeholders from universities, the industry, and public or private operators. Participants will have the possibility to get in touch with security stakeholders and representatives of the European Commission. They may also take part in the „market place of ideas and and leading figures”.

Chercheurs(/euses) issu(e)s de pays tiers désirant effectuer un programme de type postdoctoral au sein d’établissements d’enseignement supérieur organisés ou subventionnés par la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

En vue d’appuyer les différents pôles de compétitivité du Plan Marshall 4.0, les domaines privilégiés sont les suivants:

• Transport et logistique;
• Génie mécanique;
• Sciences du vivant;
• Agro-industrie;
• Aéronautique-spatial;
• Technologies environnementales.

Tout autre domaine sera pris en considération, qu’il s’agisse des sciences humaines, fondamentales ou appliquées.

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN) support joint research training and/or doctoral programme implemented by European partnerships providing early stage researchers (PhD students) with training and experience inside and outside academia.

Nachwuchspreis der SAGW – Einreichefrist für die Ausgabe 2019 ist der 1. Dezember 2018.

Der Nachwuchspreis der SAGW ist dem akademischen Nachwuchs der Schweiz gewidmet. Mit dem Preis werden junge Forscherinnen und Forscher der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften für die Qualität eines Artikels ausgezeichnet, der in einer wissenschaftlichen Publikation veröffentlicht wurde. Der mit Fr. 18’000.– dotierte Preis wird alljährlich an der Jahresversammlung der SAGW verliehen. Er ist in drei Unterpreise aufgegliedert:

  • Nachwuchspreis Gold: Fr. 10.000,00
  • Nachwuchspreis Silber: Fr. 5.000,00
  • Nachwuchspreis Bronze: Fr. 3.000,00
