The Mexican government, through the Sectorial Research Fund of the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), has recently launched a call for “Research Projects in Science, Technology and Innovation, linked to Mexican scientists and technologists based abroad”.
The objective of the Fund is to support applied research projects and link the Mexican scientific and technological community abroad with its counterparts in Mexico. The thematic areas established by the call are: Environment; Sustainable Development; Technological Development; Health and Society.
This effort is part of the overall strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to recognize the contribution of Mexican scientists abroad, concretely to the development of Mexico. Eligible are proposals from research teams that include at least one Mexican entity and at least 2 external entities represented each and independently by a representative of the scientific and technological community of Mexicans abroad.
