For the past five years, Zurich University of Applied Sciences has hosted the Service Prototyping Lab to investigate new ways to design, prototype, implement and deploy SaaS and related cloud application concepts. We have worked with many companies from all over Switzerland to come up with innovative solutions together. We still continue this way, but we also want to reflect technological change and the evolving requirements of our research and innovation partners as well as our students in education. Therefore, we are working on reflecting this evolution also in naming, and gradually move towards a positioning as leading research partner in Switzerland around the topic of Distributed Application Computing Paradigms.
Auckland, New Zealand, had invited the global research and innovation community around broadly defined cloud computing topics to an established four-day double conference. The 12th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computing (UCC 2019) and the 6th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Big Data Computing, Applications and Technologies (BDCAT 2019) happened with their respective main tracks and satellite events. The Service Prototyping Lab at Zurich University of Applied Sciences was present with a workshop, a tutorial and a presentation. This blog post summarises the contributions and the event as a whole.
The University of Sharjah is the national university of the Emirate of Sharjah in the UAE. Located in the University City, the world’s largest campus, its buildings convey the uniqueness that underpins its research activities, including in computer science and engineering. We are proud to have started cooperative research and the exchange of researchers many months ago. In this blog post, our latest joint work on multi-paradigm computating in a trilateral constellation with Penta is presented.
At Zurich University of Applied Sciences, in particular at the Service Prototyping Lab, we are very proud to announce a packed global technology event week which brings many international experts in cloud computing, big data computing and serverless computing into little Switzerland. Join us for more than 140 unique technical and scientific talks over five days!
