For two days the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft opened its doors for the Morgenstadt Werkstatt in Stuttgart. Public authorities, business representatives, scientist, students and the public came together to develop sustainable solutions for future cities. New and challenging developments were discussed in the topics of mobility, energy, governance, building, lifestyle, smart living, digitalisation and e-commerce. Companies and science gave interesting insights in their projects. During the numerous workshops and a Smart City Makeathon new ideas and solutions could be developed. Helene Schmelzer from the Institute of Sustainable Development participated at the event and gave a presentation on the opportunities and challenges of city logistics.
