The midterm METPEX Meeting took place from 31st March to 2nd April 2014 in Valencia. The 15 project partners discussed about the progress of the running work packages (WP) and INE, as WP6-leader, coordinated the discussions regarding the factors associated with accessibility that are relevant for the quality of passenger experience.The first task of the WP is to identify the socio-ecomic factors connected to accessibility.
In Switzerland data show that the higher the level of income, the higher the distance and time travelled (see figure below). A likely reason for this fact might be that the economic affordability of vehicles’ purchase and associated travel costs may incentivate individuals to travel more often or/and further.
