Linux Driver for LT6911UXC HDMI to MIPI CSI-2 now available for Linux for Tegra R36.X

The ZHAW Institure for Embedded Systems (InES) is happy to announce the new and revided version of the Lontium LT6911UXC driver compatible with the newest Jetson Linux version L4T R36.X. The driver can be downloaded from now on from the Lontium_lt6911uxc Github repository.

Depending on the firmware running on the Lontium LT6911UXC (which has to be requested from Lontium itself), it is capable to receive up to 4k30 HDMI 2.0 signals and stream them in UYVY (16bit/px) format to the NVIDIA Jetson using four MIPI CSI-2 lanes.

The driver was extensively tested using a NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB on our custom Anyvision Orin NX developer kit, making use of our baseboard’s video interface by developing a HDMI-Input module and therefore also gathering valuable information about implementing the Lontium LT6911UXC in a hardware design.

Furthermore, InES invested time in evaluating 4k60 HDMI streaming using the same LT6911UXC leveraging the two available Jetson CSI-Phys simultaneously for a total of eight MIPI CSI-2 lanes, followed by a 4k60 video stream reconstruction in userspace.
