Day 10 – Geberit Visit and a very long night

A new day in shanghai before we leave to our next destination. Our group met at 7.40 am in the lobby and headed towards the subway station to transfer to the company Geberit. Geberit is a manufacturer for sanitary technology with global presence and was founded in 1874 in Switzerland. The CEO of Asia Pacific and the head of Product in Asia Pacific welcomed us to the factory and briefly introduced us to challanges in the local market. Their main goal is to increase market share by steadily improvements. Learning by doing is geberit’s approach to make the chinese market more profitable.

After the introduction of the company and products by Mr. Nick Shao, Customer Service Center Manager we were allowed to visit the production line of the sanitary system and how the piping system work compared to it’s competitors. It’s a more efficient system that needs less water, makes less noise and reduces the inconvience related to the smelling problematic.

Geberit invited us for lunch in their cantine were a wide range of local dishes were served. It gave everybody the chance to choose what they like and the feeling of beeing a Geberit employee. Shortly after lunch, we handed over some gifts to show how greatful we were for their invitation.

Unfortunately it was time to head towards the city center where we finally got the chance to visit it by ourself at daytime. Shanghai is such an interesting and bustling city, that never sleeps. But now it was time for us to go back to the hotel and pick up our luggage to leave Shanghai.

Then it was time to say goodbye to Shanghai, the interesting financial city of China!

As soon as we arrived at the International Airport of Shanghai the airline announced that there was a delay of our flight. We stucked for over four hours until we took off to Guilin. Some of us had a short nap while waiting for the flight. In the early morning we finally arrived in Guilin and we were happy about having a short but needed sleep until we had to be ready for the next day.
