Day 01 – Winterthur -> Shanghai

We all gathered on Saturday morning (yes, it seems long foregone!) in front of the Winterthurer Theater.  Everyone was on time and you could see the excitement in everyone’s eyes. The trip started with a slight delay but the weather was on our side – which is crucial in this case- and we made it to Frankfurt on time. After a last meal on European grounds, we boarded our flight CA936 to Shanghai at 19:20. We (Stefi, Laura, Aniela) made sure all our crew was on board and comfortable. We were able to enjoy two stupendous Chinese meals on board, a usual chicken-or-beef dinner and a special breakfast consisting of beef-noodles, quite a new gourmet experience for many of us. The eleven hours went by peacuflly for most. Once in Shanghai we were warmly greeted by our Chinese tourguides, Yuan and Gong.  On our way to the hotel, they explained the passing scenery and gave us general information on Shanghai City in a very fluent English. Upon our arrival at the Best Western New Century Shanghai, we had to resolve some small double-booking issues. The nice rooms, however, made up for the initial mix-up.
