Frauke Watzek hat letztes Jahr ihr Studium im Umweltingenieurwesen an der ZHAW in W\u00e4denswil begonnen. Schon vor dem Studium engagierte sich die 21-J\u00e4hrige in nachhaltigen Bereichen. So arbeitete sie beispielsweise bei der Schutzstation Wattenmeer in Sylt (DE) oder auch als Imkerin. Nun ist sie aktiv im Vorstand des Vereins delikat<\/strong>restessen<\/strong><\/a>, welcher von Studierenden des Instituts f\u00fcr Umwelt und Nat\u00fcrliche Ressourcen gegr\u00fcndet wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was machst du im Verein delikat<\/strong>restessen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frauke: <\/strong>Das Ziel von delikat<\/strong>restessen<\/strong> ist Foodwaste zu verringern. W\u00e4hrend ein Drittel der Lebensmittel in der Schweiz weggeschmissen wird, versuchen wir stattdessen zusammen mit L\u00e4den in der Umgebung Lebensmittel zu retten und zu verteilen, sobald sie nicht mehr verkauft werden k\u00f6nnen. So hole ich zusammen mit meiner WG jede Woche Lebensmittel in den L\u00e4den ab und verteile sie in unseren \u00f6ffentlichen K\u00fchlschr\u00e4nken. Ich m\u00f6chte mich nun aber auch vermehrt der Organisation im Hintergrund widmen, damit mit unseren K\u00fchlschr\u00e4nken und den Kontakten zu den L\u00e4den alles rund l\u00e4uft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inwiefern f\u00f6rderst du mit deinem Engagement Nachhaltige Entwicklung?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frauke:<\/strong> Es ist verr\u00fcckt, was bei uns alles an Essen weggeworfen wird. F\u00fcr unsere Lebensmittel wird so viel Arbeit und Energie aufgewendet und danach viel zu verschwenderisch damit umgegangen. Wenn ich Lebensmittel verteilen kann, statt wegzuwerfen, kann ich nicht nur viele Ressourcen sparen, sondern auch mein Essensbudget schonen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wo siehst du das Potential f\u00fcr Nachhaltige Entwicklung an der ZHAW?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frauke<\/strong>: Wie gelehrt wird, finde ich noch verbesserungsw\u00fcrdig. Wir m\u00fcssen viel Wissen ansammeln und dann wiedergeben. Doch der praktische Ansatz ist mir vor allem wichtig: Mein gesammeltes Wissen benutzen, um etwas zu ver\u00e4ndern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
