{"id":1296,"date":"2020-07-31T14:02:56","date_gmt":"2020-07-31T12:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/splab\/?p=1296"},"modified":"2020-07-31T14:46:25","modified_gmt":"2020-07-31T12:46:25","slug":"cifs-2020-call-for-papers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/splab\/2020\/07\/31\/cifs-2020-call-for-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"CIFS 2020 &#8211; Call for papers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are delighted to organize the next iteration of International Workshop on Cloud, IoT and Fog Systems (and Security) &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/cifs.servicelaboratory.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\">CIFS <\/a>2020 which will be colocated with <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.le.ac.uk\/events\/UCC2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">UCC<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.le.ac.uk\/events\/BDCAT2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">BDCAT<\/a> conferences to be held online this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>This is the call for paper:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Description<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sensors and actuators are becoming pervasive. From empowering smart agritech, to cities, to even our own households, sensors and IoT are revolutionizing all dimensions of computing. With advancements in low energy communication standards, low energy computing &#8211; from message encodings, to on-the-fly encryption, etc. we are seeing emergence of new paradigms such as Fog, Serverless and Continuum computing which are empowered by high capacity core networks and large datacenters thrown in the mix. Such a scheme of things creates new opportunities but also are rife with challenges which must be overcome. This workshop aims to discuss recent advances around holistic security, deployment modes, communication mediums, line protocols, data collection, and multi-level processing and application development in such systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Topics of Interest<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We solicit research papers (up to 6p) and technical industry reports (typically 3-6p) on the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Secure cloud computing concepts (homomorphic encryption, enclaves, hardware security modules, stealth computing among others)<\/li><li>Long-term distributed data storage security and proof-of-ownership\/provision\/retrievability<\/li><li>End-to-end security concepts across IoT-fog-cloud continuums<\/li><li>Physical and digital security of IoT deployments, smart meters and other end devices<\/li><li>Privacy and economics considerations as well as trade-offs<\/li><li>Risks and threats including spoofing, identity manipulation and distortion<\/li><li>Audit facilities and compliance mechanisms<\/li><li>Cross-border, cross-provider and cross-stack security issues<\/li><li>Human factors: simplicity and controllability of security measures<\/li><li>Applications in digitalised health care, ecology, agriculture and other fields<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submitted papers should contain results or reports not already published or submitted elsewhere, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieee.org\/conferences\/publishing\/templates.html\">IEEE format<\/a>. All papers will be peer reviewed by at least three programme committee members. The evaluation will be based on originality, relevance of the problem to the workshop topics, technical strength, quality of results, and clarity of the presentation. The publication of the workshop proceeding with all accepted papers will be by the IEEE and will appear in the same volume as the UCC 2020 and BDCAT 2020 conferences.
