We all met at the Meeting Point by the statue of Frederik VII and kicked things off with a short briefing before heading straight into the Danish Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour through the Danish Parliament was full of interesting details: Every prime minister is commemorated with a portrait, two of which were painted by female artists. Along the hallways of the building, small decorative paintings featuring flowers hide subtle satirical messages \u2014 like one featuring a snail as a quiet comment on the slow pace of the Danish Parliament’s decision-making. And of course, you can’t forget the barber shop right inside the parliament building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that we made our way to the Swiss Embassy, where we arrived with Swiss-level punctuality: 10 minutes late. The exchange was both personal and professional and genuinely sparked our interest. As a nice bonus, we left with an invitation to watch the World Cup match Switzerland vs. Canada on Wednesday together with other Swiss citizens living in Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following an individual lunch break, we were welcomed at the European Environment Agency. We got a real insight into their work covering their day-to-day activities, traineeship opportunities, as well as their data gathering and analysis processes. The EEA is a genuinely important and neutral data institution that monitors and presents environmental information across many countries. A unique setup as a truly cross-border agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To wrap up the day in true Copenhagen fashion, we hopped on the boat taxi across the harbour and made a proper celebration out of it, marking the start of this study trip with drinks and food at a streetfood location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
