The last day of the study trip started with a walk to the Circular Quay. From there we experieneced an Aboriginal Walking Tour in the Rocks. The tourguide shared with us the beliefs and spiritual customs of their culture and heritage. During the tour we visited several locations, where she showed us with different artifacts the meaning of these places. A very important, if not the most important aspect of Aboriginal culture, is the connection to nature. They see nature as an extended part of their family and therefore watch over it their lifetime long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the Indigenous trip we visited the Sydney Opera house where we had a guided tour. We had the opportunity to enter multiple showrooms and received insights about the political, architecture and project management issues regarding the construction of the Opera. Sydneys Opera house was designed by Jorn Utzon, an Danish architect but finished by Peter Hall, an Australian architect and was formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1973. In 2023 the Opera celebrated its 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the late afternoon, we embarked on a journey from Circular Quay to Manly Beach via ferry. Once there, we enjoyed lunch before splitting up\u2014some of us opted for a bus ride while others chose to hike up the hill to the International College of Management in Sydney. The college’s architecture strikingly resembles that of Hogwarts Castle, exuding an air of grandeur. Originally serving as a seminary for nuns and priests, the building was later transformed into the college it is today. The dean graciously guided us through the campus and delivered a presentation about the institution, highlighting the opportunity to pursue master’s degrees there. As our study trip concluded, several of us decided to spend more time at Manly Beach.
