Wednesday was one of those days that felt like we packed a whole week of experiences into just a few hours. Our day started early in Shenzhen, where we boarded the ferry and headed toward Macau, watching the skyline slowly fade as the open water took over. The ferry ride itself already felt like an adventure, calm, smooth, and a perfect warm-up for what was ahead.

Once we arrived in Macau, we hopped onto a tour bus that took us to our first stop: a historic temple that once played a major role in the lives of local fishermen. Standing there, it was easy to imagine how important this place must have been back then, a space for protection, fortune, and tradition before heading out to sea. It was a quiet but powerful way to begin exploring the city.

Not long after, we got to try one of Macau’s famous snacks: egg tarts. Fresh, warm, and sweet, they were an instant hit and gave us a much-needed energy boost for the rest of the day.

Next up was one of Macau’s most iconic landmarks, the famous stone façade of the Ruins of St. Paul’s College and Church. Even though it was under construction, we got a good impression of how much history and character it still holds. From there, we continued on foot, wandering through the streets of Macau. Walking around the city gave us a real feel for the place, with its mix of old colonial architecture, busy streets, and modern city life all blending together.

Later in the afternoon, we took the bus to Galaxy Entertainment Casino, where we were given a tour of the massive complex. The scale of this busy place was honestly mind-blowing, a massive shopping mall, luxury hotels and shops, stunning interiors, and an atmosphere that felt completely different from the streets we had just walked through. A quick detour through an exhibition of art icon Zhu Bingren, who is famous for his incredible copper-carving skills, complemented our visit.

After the tour, we had some free time to step into the casino itself and try our luck. Whether winning or losing, it was definitely a fun experience and something completely new for many of us. To wrap up the day, we took the metro back to the ferry terminal, seeing the skyline of Macau at night one last time before returning to Shenzhen by ferry. Tired but happy, it was the perfect end to a packed and unforgettable Wednesday. Overall, the day was a great mix of culture, history, food, and entertainment, and definitely another highlight of our study trip so far.
