Study Trip Japan, Day 3

Today was an exciting day filled with modern innovation and cultural heritage! We started our journey in Shibuya, one of Tokyo’s most vibrant districts. Our first stop was the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, the world-famous intersection where hundreds of people cross from all directions at once. It was fascinating to see the sheer energy of the place, and of course, we took some pictures and videos to capture the moment!

Just a short walk away, we visited the Hachiko Memorial Statue, a touching tribute to the loyal Akita dog who waited for his owner every day, even after his passing. It was heartwarming to see how Hachiko’s story continues to inspire people around the world.

Next, we had the incredible opportunity to visit Google Japan. The experience was truly eye-opening as we listened to presenters share insights about their careers, the innovative work they do, and the core values that drive Google’s success. It was inspiring to hear firsthand how technology and creativity come together in one of the world’s leading tech companies.

After a delicious lunch, we boarded the shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto. The ride itself was a highlight—smooth, fast, and a glimpse into Japan’s cutting-edge transportation system.

Upon arriving in Kyoto, we explored a traditional neighborhood, where we got a deeper understanding of Japan’s rich cultural heritage. One of the most interesting things we learned was the difference between a Geisha and a Maiko. A Geisha is a highly skilled entertainer who has completed years of training in traditional arts, while a Maiko is an apprentice, still in the process of mastering these skills. The beautiful kimono, elaborate hairstyles, and graceful mannerisms of these women reflect centuries-old traditions that continue to be preserved today.

Overall, today was a perfect blend of modern innovation and deep-rooted tradition. From the bustling streets of Shibuya to the timeless charm of Kyoto, Japan continues to amaze us with its unique mix of the past and the future. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds!
