{"id":1997,"date":"2015-03-09T11:55:43","date_gmt":"2015-03-09T10:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/mobine\/?p=1997"},"modified":"2015-03-13T15:53:37","modified_gmt":"2015-03-13T14:53:37","slug":"bicar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/mobine\/bicar\/","title":{"rendered":"BiCar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five institutes of the ZHAW School of Engineering (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ine.zhaw.ch\/en\/engineering\/institutes-centres\/institute-of-sustainable-development.html\" target=\"_blank\">INE<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.zhaw.ch\/de\/engineering\/institute-zentren\/zpp.html\" target=\"_blank\">ZPP<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.zhaw.ch\/de\/engineering\/institute-zentren\/imes.html\" target=\"_blank\">IMES<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.zhaw.ch\/en\/engineering\/institutes-centres\/institute-of-mechatronic-systems.html\" target=\"_blank\">IMS<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.zhaw.ch\/de\/engineering\/institute-zentren\/impe.html\" target=\"_blank\">IMPE<\/a>) are working together with the course of studies <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.zhaw.ch\/en\/engineering\/study\/bachelors-degree-programmes\/transportation-systems.html\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cTransport Systems\u201d<\/a> for an innovative solution for urban transport of tomorrow. The project <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/bicar\/\" target=\"_blank\">BICAR<\/a> is an intelligent sharing system and the associated vehicle concept will be developed to bridge the gap between cars and bicycles.<\/p>\n<p>The BICAR project is characterized, that the <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.zhaw.ch\/en\/engineering.html\" target=\"_blank\">ZHAW School of Engineering<\/a> on the one hand examines the overall system solution and on the other hand it develops a vehicle necessary for the vision. The vision is that there are a number of BiCars available at critical points of the city. Anyone can rent a BICAR to cover the necessary distance and then return the vehicle to a different location. The sharing concept only works properly if the availability is always greater than the demand. This gives rise to specific vehicle requirements. &#8220;BICAR must be very space-saving, all-weather and flexible to use and should have a medium range,&#8221; said <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.zhaw.ch\/de\/engineering\/studium\/bachelor\/verkehrssysteme.html\">Thomas Sauter-Servaes<\/a> (Director of Studies \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/verkehrssysteme\/\">Transport Systems<\/a>\u201d). &#8220;Both, the classic car and the bike have disadvantages in city traffic -.
