A major aim of the project \u201cCooperational platform for urban logistics in Zurich<\/a>\u201d is to optimise the logistics of Zurich with the help of cooperation. One possibility is trying to shift the freight flows\u00a0that are carried out by businesses by themselves\u00a0to professional freight carriers. In order to develop a solution that meets the needs of the customers a survey was conducted to determine the reasons why business customers carry out transportation by themselves.<\/p>\n

48 of the 64 professional consignors participating in the survey stated carrying out transportation by themselves. The figure below shows the major reasons for this phenomenon:<\/p>\n
