Individuals over <a title=\"Travel time and distance in different age groups\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/mobine\/2014\/05\/21\/travel-time-and-distance-in-different-age-groups\/\">65 years old report the lowest daily travel distances, travel times and share of days undertaking a trip<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The main reason for this reduced mobility is the retirement of the work market, what causes a less necessity to leave residence places for daily commuting (see figure below). Health issues, such as disabilities or sickness, are also relevant, especially for people over 80.
