A car’s capacity use is the lowest during commuting trips and business related travelling. 91% of the commuters drive to work alone, whereas during leisure time\u00a0most of the private vehicles carry more than one person (see following figure, BFS&ARE 2012). Increased capacity utilization in the form of car pooling or car sharing are ways to improve the efficiency of private motorized vehicles and to ease the congestion in areas with high traffic volumes.<\/p>\n
