There were around 40 participants from the pubic and private sectors of Switzerland and some from Germany and Italy.<br \/>\nOverall, it was an excellent opportunity to receive relevant introduction on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fi-ware.org\/\">FIWARE<\/a> enablers and related coming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fi-ware.org\/fiware-accelerator-programme\/\">open calls<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The agenda of the day was organised to provide necessary views for understanding the opportunities offered by FIWARE project. The European Commission (Ragnar Bergstr\u00f6m) gave an overview of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fi-ppp.eu\/\">Future Internet PPP\u00a0\u00a0<\/a> and its progress in Brazil and Mexico. The speech was followed by a large introduction of FIWARE project, (Thomas M. Bohnert, ICCLab), its eco-system and an introduction on the <a href=\"http:\/\/catalogue.fi-ware.org\/enablers\">Generic Enablers<\/a>.\u00a0 In the morning <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/sandro-brunner\/\">Sandro Brunner<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/\">ICCLab<\/a>) gave a first demo on how to utilise <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fi-ware.org\/lab\/\">FIWARE LAB<\/a> and how to mash and application up utilising the sensors infrastructure available in Santander city, Spain. The demo was also reprised in the afternoon and followed by a Q&amp;A session.<\/p>\n<p>Since the entire FIWARE platform is strongly based on the cloud, the participants had also the opportunity to see the view of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.equinix.ch\/locations\/switzerland-colocation\/zurich-data-centers\/zh1\">EQUINIX <\/a>, sponsor of the event.\u00a0 The speech of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/sachinsony\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Sachin Sony<\/span><\/a> , Equinix UK met the objectives of giving information on the market trends for cloud services and how his company is worldwide involved as a provider of many Over The Top big players. The conference also offered the opportunity to introduce project ideas, from some participants, to the two<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fi-ware.org\/accelerators\/\"> A16 accelerators<\/a>\u00a0 ( <a href=\"http:\/\/www.speedupeurope.eu\">Speedup! Europe<\/a>\u00a0 and <a href=\"http:\/\/soul-fi.ipn.pt\/\">SOUL-FI\u00a0 <\/a>) represented by Olaf-Gerd Gemein and Maria Augusta Mancini respectively.
