{"id":3418,"date":"2013-09-27T14:49:04","date_gmt":"2013-09-27T14:49:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cloudcomp.ch\/?p=3418"},"modified":"2013-09-27T14:49:04","modified_gmt":"2013-09-27T14:49:04","slug":"future-internet-assembly-fia-athens-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/future-internet-assembly-fia-athens-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Future Internet Assembly (FIA Athens 2014)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <b>11<sup>th<\/sup> Future Internet Assembly<\/b>\u00a0 will take place from <b>18 to 20 March 2014<\/b> in Athens, Greece.<\/p>\n<p>This year the focus will be on &#8220;<b>Reshaping the Future Internet infrastructure for innovation&#8221;<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Open call<\/b> has been launched to select the best\u00a0 <b>9 FIA working sessions<\/b> for the conference, selecting the proposals that cover aspects related to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <b>new Internet technological landscape<\/b> based on <b>network\/cloud<\/b> integration through <b>Software Defined Networking<\/b> (SDN),\u00a0 <b>Network Functions Virtualization<\/b> (NFV), and <b>innovative software and services<\/b> that enable application innovation;<\/li>\n<li>The contribution of\u00a0 the <b>EU National Research and Education Networks<\/b> (NRENs) <b>developments<\/b> in the <b>SDN\/NFV domain<\/b>;<\/li>\n<li>The <b>role of SDN\/NFV<\/b> in i) building Internet <b>applications of major impact<\/b> (e.g., social networks, open data, big data analysis, etc.) with virtual services capabilities; ii) enabling\u00a0 the <b>reduction in resources<\/b> used (energy efficiency, reduction of raw-materials, etc&#8230;.); iii) fostering the <b>emergence of open platforms<\/b> to create downstream markets for third party developers;<\/li>\n<li>The <b>EU Public-Private-Partnerships (PPPs)<\/b> and how they are <b>positioned <\/b>relative to these developments and relevant <b>requirements<\/b> towards <b>demonstration<\/b> and <b>test-beds<\/b> in Europe\/globally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These sessions should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contain <b>new and forward-looking<\/b> ideas;<\/li>\n<li>Feature a <b>diverse<\/b> array of presenters and experiences;<\/li>\n<li>Introduce <b>visionary<\/b> ideas and practices which will inspire audience;<\/li>\n<li>Promote <b>cross cutting<\/b> approaches and technologies to attract stakeholders and entrepreneurs;<\/li>\n<li>Deliver <b>best practices &amp; creative<\/b> approaches towards research and technological innovations;<\/li>\n<li>Stimulate and <b>provoke discussion<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0<b>working session proposals<\/b> can be submitted following the <b>template<\/b> available at <b><a href=\"https:\/\/osqa.eurescom.eu\/\">https:\/\/osqa.eurescom.eu<\/a><\/b> \u00a0<b>by Tuesday, 15<sup>th<\/sup> October 2013<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"pt-sm\">Schlagw\u00f6rter: <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/tag\/fi-ppp\/\">FI PPP<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/tag\/fia\/\">fia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/tag\/future-internet\/\">Future Internet<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/tag\/nfv\/\">NFV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/tag\/sdn\/\">SDN<\/a><br><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 11th Future Internet Assembly\u00a0 will take place from 18 to 20 March 2014 in Athens, Greece.
