The workshop will address the integration of two technologies that are\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>expected to have significant impact in the ICT area for the next\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\ndecade(s): next generation mobile communication networks (mainly 4G)\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>and cloud computing. While mobile communication networks have been\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nestablished decades ago and are still continuously evolving, cloud\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>computing became a hot topic in recent years and is expected to have\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nsignificantly impact on novel applications as well as on ICT\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>infrastructures.<\/span><\/tt><\/p>\n

Cloud computing and mobile communication networks have been considered\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>separate from each other in the past. However, there are various\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\npossible synergies between them. First, access to cloud storage and\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>computing service via wireless\/mobile networks should be optimized in\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nterms of delay, bandwidth and energy consumption from an end user\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>perspective. Second, there is an increasing trend to implement more\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nand more functions of a mobile communication network in software,\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>e.g., for signal and protocol processing. This enables the use of\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\ncloud computing infrastructures as processing platforms for signal and\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>protocol processing of mobile communication networks, in particular\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nfor current (4G) and future (5G) generation networks. In particular,\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>the integration of protocol and application\/service processing enables\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nseveral opportunities to optimize performance of cloud applications\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>and services observed by the mobile user, whose device is connected to\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nthe cloud via wireless access networks. The workshop will discuss\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>emerging technologies in cloud computing and mobile communication\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nnetworks. Moreover, it will focus on possible integration scenarios\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>and synergies between them.<\/span><\/tt><\/p>\n

The workshop solicits original contributions in the topics of interest\u00a0<\/span><\/tt>for the workshop. Those topics include but are not limited to the\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/tt>following:<\/span><\/tt><\/strong>

\nmay use the standard IEEE Transactions templates for Microsoft Word or\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nLaTeX. Alternatively you can follow the IEEE Communications Society's\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nguidelines for attendees and authors. Only PDF files are accepted for\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nreview.<\/span><\/tt><\/p>\n

To submit the paper, use the EDAS online submission system. All\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
\nsubmitted papers will go through a peer review process. All accepted\u00a0 <\/span><\/tt>
