{"id":1083,"date":"2012-10-19T20:52:40","date_gmt":"2012-10-19T20:52:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cloudcomp.ch\/?p=1083"},"modified":"2012-10-19T20:52:40","modified_gmt":"2012-10-19T20:52:40","slug":"icclab-invited-to-european-commission-cloud-expert-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.zhaw.ch\/icclab\/icclab-invited-to-european-commission-cloud-expert-group\/","title":{"rendered":"ICCLab Invited to European Commission Cloud Expert Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ICCLab (<a title=\"Andy Edmonds\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cloudcomp.ch\/team\/andy-edmonds\/\">Andy<\/a> and <a title=\"Thomas Michael Bohnert\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cloudcomp.ch\/team\/thomas-michael-bohnert\/\">Thomas<\/a>) is invited to participate to the next meeting of the Cloud Expert Group which will take place in October 29-30, 2012 in Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>The previous work of the Cloud Expert Group (<a href=\"http:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/fp7\/ict\/ssai\/docs\/future-cc-2may-finalreport-experts.pdf\">&#8220;Advances in Clouds&#8221;<\/a>) has clearly shown that Cloud Computing still requires research and development work in multiple domains (e.g. software &amp; services, networks, security, complex systems, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the workshop is to refine the research topics identified in the above mentioned report, provide more details and develop a roadmap with priorities and actions.<\/p>\n<p>To better shape the workshop discussions, position papers (no longer than 2 pages) are submitted on any of the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Data management, communications &amp; networks<\/li>\n<li>Resource description &amp; usage, resource management<\/li>\n<li>Programmability &amp; usability<\/li>\n<li>Federation, interoperability, portability<\/li>\n<li>Security<\/li>\n<li>Business and cost models, expertise &amp; usability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Andy will provide a\u00a0position\u00a0paper on cloud standards, federation, and interoperability from the ICCLab&#8217;s perspective.
