Deadline is February 28, 2013.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Grants for joint research projects are meant to promote collaborative projects with clearly defined goals involving<br \/>\nat least one Swiss and one South African partner. Applications should describe ambitious research and propose innovative approaches. The research is to be carried out at the research facilities involved; reciprocal visits and short stays in Switzerland for researchers from South Africa and vice-versa are also possible within a joint research project.\u00a0The joint research projects can last up to 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research fields<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to make targeted use of the financial resources available, the following thematic areas<br \/>\nwere chosen for this call:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public Health and Biomedicine<\/li>\n<li>Biotechnology and Nanotechnology<\/li>\n<li>Greentech and Cleantech<\/li>\n<li>Humanities and Social Sciences (in particular related to the other three thematic areas)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Proposals outside the thematic areas defined above will not be accepted.\u00a0The maximum allowed budget for a project is of CHF 230,000.-.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals are to be jointly prepared by Swiss and South African applicants. They must be\u00a0submitted by the Swiss main applicant to the SNSF via its electronic submission system\u00a0(mySNF, www.mysnf.ch).
