Okober in Berlin gegr\u00fcndet. Die  neue Organisation vereint 50 europ\u00e4ische Forschungsorganisationen und  wird in Br\u00fcssel ihren Sitz haben. Die Schweiz ist durch den Schweizer Nationalfonds als Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied in dieser Organisation vertreten.<!--more-->Ziel ist es, Forschungsaktivit\u00e4ten der Mitglieder zu koordinieren und in  Zusammenarbeit mit der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission den Weg zu bahnen f\u00fcr  einen europ\u00e4ischen Forschungsraum (European Research Area). Dieser  Prozess wurde von zwei Organisationen ma\u00dfgeblich unterst\u00fctzt: der  Vereinigung der Vorsitzenden der Forschungsorganisationen in Europa  (EUROHORCS) und der European Science Foundation (ESF).
