Die Veranstaltung am 3. und 4. Juni 2013 gibt einen Überblick über neueste Trends und Entwicklungen im Bereich der Einweg-Technology für die biopharmazeutische Produktion aus technischer und ökonomischer Sicht. Das Programm umfasst Vorträge, Workshops mit führenden Firmen des Bereichs und eine abschliessende Podiumsdisskusion. Zusätzlich gibt es Gelegenheit, mit Herstellern, Zulieferern, Anwendern und Zulassungsspezialisten in Kontakt zu treten.

International Foresight Academy – Seminar 16.-19.Sept. 2013 an der ZHAW in Winterthur – Call for Abstracts

The European IFA Academic Seminar will cover several topics related to participatory and democratic foresight in support of decision making. It shall thus address the inclusive and engaging nature of foresight through stakeholder involvement.

Members of the Swiss Academic Society for Environmental Research and Ecology SAGUF working group on energy future will co-organise a respective session and actively interact with the international IFA community to advance knowledge generation in this field.

The recently set up International Foresight Academy (IFA) aims to bring together foresight activities, experiences and initiatives from contrasting cultural and political contexts around the globe. IFA wants to explore and compare if foresight has the potential to function as a means to support societies to better face and influence politics, especially on critical issues that may determine and influence our future. IFA research will investigate if foresight can in fact provide some room for articulation to address even complicated and technologically sophisticated issues, overcoming public muteness and obliviousness. The identification of best practice models from empirical evidence in different countries and contexts will support other foresight practitioners to contribute to more transparency and participation in the debate of critical future issues. The interaction of technology with the social, behavioural and environmental aspects in integrative planning becomes more and more important.

In this context, this Academic Seminar will explore the development and use of foresight approaches aimed at enabling a smarter, more participatory and sustainable future through cross-cultural comparisons. The organisers invite authors to submit contributions which either elaborate on the underpinning theoretical basis or present a practical national / regional perspective or an individual approach to participatory foresight, relating technological innovation(s) to social impacts. The focus shall lie on the following themes to make comparative studies possible:

Foresight’s role in supporting democracy targeted impacts:
This theme will focus on the contributions foresight has had and can have to empower citizens to engage in decision making processes and thus shape participatory governance systems and democratic societies. Both theoretical and practical papers on topics such as stakeholder engagement; the shaping and use of networks to enable citizen participation; application of foresight in democratic decision making processes leading to social or technological innovations; transparency and democratisation of information; among others, are welcome.
Foresight and stakeholder engagement in addressing grand challenges:
This theme will focus on the contributions that participation and democracy enabled through foresight approaches can have in designing and implementing sustainable solutions to challenges societies face today and may face in the future. Both theoretical and practical papers on topics such as the use of trends, emerging signals and collective intelligence for sustainable futures; participation in addressing societal challenges and democratic decision-making on future technology choices, for instance in the context of so-called smart cities or of the future of energy generation, distribution and use; among others, are welcome.

Plenary keynotes, parallel sessions as well as workshop will enable attractive room for discussion and knowledge development among IFA partners and interested scientists, practitioners and decision makers.

Workshops with innovative, future-oriented companies, policy-makers, NGOs and the interested public will add value to the Academic Seminar.

IBH-Ideenfindungsworkshop Gesundheit

Die Internationale Bodensee-Hochschule organisiert am 14. Juni 2013 (neuer Termin!!) in Rorschach einen Ideenfindungsworkshop. In diesem Jahr ist Gesundheit das grosse Oberthema.

Obwohl Gesundheit bereits ein Schwerpunktthema in der Bodenseeregion ist, sind bei der IBH bisher kaum Anträge auf Förderung eingegangen, obgleich sich fast alle Hochschulen mit diesem Thema beschäftigen und grosses Potential besteht.

AAL Call 6: ICT-based Solutions for Supporting Occupation in Life of Older Adults

The AAL Association is pleased to pre-launch the Sixth Call for Proposals of the AAL JP with the topic “ICT-based Solutions for Supporting Occupation in Life of Older Adults”. The text of this call is available here. Please notice that the EU and national commitments are still not finalised in this document and will be included in the version officially launched on 31 January 2013.

SwissCore Research & Innovation Seminar 2013

The 2013 edition of the SwissCore Research & Innovation Seminar will take place on January 23-25. The main topics will be an update on the adoption process of Horizon 2020, the next European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. It will further address more practical and programmatic issues such as the future of Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, COST, the Joint Technology Initiatives and EUREKA. The Seminar will look as well at the European Research Area.

ZUfo 2013: Pfadabhängigkeiten

Die interdisziplinäre studentische Forschungskonferenz ZUfo der Zeppelin-Universität Friedrichshafen veranstaltet am 23. Februar 2013 eine Konferenz, um forschungsbegeisterte Studierende der Bodenseeregion zum Thema Pfadabhängigkeiten zusammenzubringen. Abstracts für eine Präsentation können bis zum 17. Dezember eingereicht werden.

ZUfo ist die interdisziplinäre studentische Forschungskonferenz der Zeppelin-Universität Friedrichshafen. Im Jahr 2013 sollen Studierende aus allen Fachrichtungen zum Thema Pfadabhängigkeiten zusammengebracht werden. Der Call for Papers und die Vorträge der Konferenz richten sich an Bachelor- und Master-, bzw. Diplom- oder Magister-Studenten (oder ähnliche Studienabschlüsse), die sich bereits vor einer Promotion wissenschaftlich austauschen wollen. Weitere Informationen zur Konferenz werden Anfang 2013 folgen.

Hintergrund: ZUfo 2013 – Call for Papers (von der Website der ZUfo)

Die ZUfo 2013 dreht sich um Pfadabhängigkeiten. Du suchst gerade empirische Belege dafür, wie frühere Entscheidungen uns beschränken, oder doch eine Lücke, wo diese Pfadabhängigkeiten keine Rolle spielt? Du hast einen Pfad gefunden, beschritten oder verlassen – darüber geschrieben? Wir möchten forschungsinteressierte Studierende zusammenbringen und über Eure Arbeiten diskutieren.

Wenn du deine Arbeit auf der Konferenz präsentieren möchtest, schickst du ein Abstract deiner Arbeit/deines Vortrags von 2.000 bis 3.000 Zeichen bis zum 17.12.2012 an call@zu-fo.de. Ein Reviewboard aus Studenten wählt aus allen Einreichungen die passendsten aus. Bitte gib auch an von welcher Hochschule du kommst sowie deinen Studiengang und Semester.

Anfang Januar erfährst du, ob du deine Forschung präsentieren wirst. Dann stellen wir auch den Kontakt zwischen dir und deinen Mitstreitern her. So kannst du sie und ihre Arbeiten kennenlernen. Auf der Konferenz werden eure Arbeiten in verschiedenen Themenblöcken von euch vorgestellt und anschließend im zusammen mit dem Publikum diskutiert. Ihr habt dadurch die Möglichkeit euer Thema aus ganz neuen Blickwinkeln zu betrachten und selbst im Mittelpunk eines wissenschaftlichen Diskurses zu stehen.

Fahrtkosten und Unterbringung werden für die Speaker von uns übernommen.

Wanderausstellung «Innovation for Better Lives» der ZHAW

Die Ressorts Internationales und Forschung & Entwicklung der ZHAW präsentieren die Wanderausstellung «Innovation for Better Lives», welche einen Blick auf spannende internationale Forschungskooperationen der ZHAW wirft. Die Vernissage zu dieser Ausstellung findet am kommenden Montag, 12. November 2012 anlässlich des International Day der ZHAW statt.

An der ZHAW werden jährlich hunderte Forschungs- und Dienstleistungsprojekte abgewickelt. Viele davon basieren auf internationalen Kooperationen.

Um die spannenden Ergebnisse solch internationaler Forschungskooperationen sichtbar zu machen, haben die Ressorts Internationales und Forschung & Entwicklung der ZHAW eine Wanderausstellung mit dem Titel «Innovation for Better Lives» realisiert. Sie zeigt Projekte aus den Bereichen Klimawandel, Landwirtschaft, Ernährung, Gesundheit, Bildung, Migration, Mobilität und Sicherheit.

Die Vernissage zu dieser Ausstellung findet am 12. November 2012 anlässlich des «International Day» der ZHAW statt. Anschliessend ist die Ausstellung in den Departementen der ZHAW, beim Staatssekretariat für Bildung und Forschung sowie an Partnerhochschulen im Ausland zu sehen.

7. Forschungsforum der österreichischen Fachhochschulen: Call for Papers

Unter dem Motto «Grenzenlos kooperieren – Forschung im Dialog mit Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft» lädt die Österreicher Fachhochschulkonferenz gemeinsam mit der Fachhochschule Vorarlberg zum 7. Forschungsforum der österreichischen Fachhochschulen (FFH) am 3. und 4. April 2013 nach Dornbirn ein. Frist für die Einreichung von Abstracts von Papers und Postern ist der 15. November 2012.

An den österreichischen Fachhochschulen hat sich über fachliche und geographische Grenzen hinweg eine sehr vielfältige Forschungslandschaft erfolgreich entwickelt. Das Fachhochschul-Forschungsforum beweist Jahr für Jahr in eindrucksvoller Weise die Leistungsfähigkeit der anwendungsorientierten Forschungsaktivitäten der Fachhochschulen. Einreichungen von Abstracts für Papers und Poster sind bis zum 15. November 2012 möglich.

Zielgruppe

Auf dem Forschungsforum der österreichischen Fachhochschulen haben VertreterInnen österreichischer Fachhochschulen und ausgewählter Fachhochschulen aus der deutschen und schweizer Bodenseeregion die Möglichkeit ihre aktuellen Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten zur Diskussion zu stellen. Auch F&E-KooperationspartnerInnen sind eingeladen, erfolgreiche Gemeinschaftsprojekte vorzustellen.

Themenbereiche

Für das 7. Forschungsforum wurden durch das Organisationsteam fünf Themenbereiche festgelegt, die einerseits einen hohen Stellenwert in den Forschungsaktivitäten österreichischer Fachhochschulen aufweisen und sich andererseits auch im Studienangebot der Fachhochschulen widerspiegeln:

The SDC and SECO have chosen to dedicate their annual development cooperation conference to the theme of Effectiveness. The event will take place at the BERNEXPO fairgrounds in Bern and present the sustainable results of Swiss development cooperation on global and local levels.
